Trading Card Digital Alters

An ongoing collection of my creative spin on trading cards from popular games such as Magic: The Gathering and Flesh & Blood

I love to combine my favorite franchises with trading cards to creative new and unique card artworks

Let it be no secret that I love to play Magic: The Gathering and the occasional Flesh and Blood. Being also a nerd who loves other video game, movie and media franchises, I love to convey my own creative spins and inspirations into unique card designs.

Card designs are typically based on childhood hobbies, current trendy franchises, or my personal favorite fandoms. Each card is an existing, playable card, with a completely new design of my own creation.

What I do in this project

Stunning vector work, fun digital alterations, and vibrantly fun gags. Each card is fun and unique!

When I get an idea for a new card design, I jot it down and begin collecting samples to base my design off of. Usually this is samples from the media that inspired the idea, such as movie or show clips, video game screenshots, art pieces from an era of time, and so on. Inspiration from samples then flow into my design, capturing that inspiration to create a card reflecting its source.

For my art deco cards, I captured poster samples from the art deco period, using them to inspire my vector work into the final card design. For the runescape cards, they reflected game UI design. For Fortnite, I captured the game's character and item selection menu designs to inspire the final card designs.

Each card design is a unique challenge, as I translate my ideas into various card components, such as the card frame, rules text, mana costs, artwork, and so on. I always ensure every design element of the redesigned card is there in the final version, and redesigned to reflect my inspiration and ideas.

Some of these designs make their way onto game tokens, which I sell to satisfied customers through Strawbee Crafts.

"One of the coolest tokens in my collection."
