My creative process.

My creative process aims to maximize effiency and quality. It begins by meeting with the client or team to determine goals, timelines and capabilities.

After establishing a goal, I begin work while continuiously engaging in feedback and iteration cycles with the client or team, ensuring goals are kept in line, expectations are met, and deadlines are on time.

01.

Client/Team Call

In this crucial initial step, I meet with the client or team to determine project goals, what assets the client already has available, their expectations and timeline, and align the project to my capabilities and collected facts.
02.

Research and Conceptualization

Using information collected in the initial step, I begin researching ideas, locating project assets, creating project flows and structure, and drafting ideas.
Here, I think about ways to execute the project - collect samples, research trends, compare against similar past projects, and so on.
03.

Prototyping & Testing

I present my findings, questions and ideas to the client or team to ensure my findings are in the right direction. From there, I begin creating and presenting prototypes. If applicable, the team or client may utilize prototypes in testing to gather meaningful feedback, which I incorporate into future iterations.
04.

Finalize Product

In this final stage of design, I take final feedback and incorporate it into the project. Just as well, the project receives final touches and is prepared for delivery. I begin cleaning up my workspace, collecting deliverables, and provide the client or team with any and all agreed upon deliverables.

Have questions?

I've gathered common questions and their answers to make your experience smoother.

You look so young! Were you really in the Navy in 2007?
I get this question a LOT. I'm much older than I look so I promise my work history and resume are accurate. Let's just say, I learned my ABC's on a Commodore 64.
How long have you been doing design?
Since high school. Seriously! Growing up, I was captivated by the idea of computer generated graphics. The idea someone could make something and put it on a computer screen amazed me, and I've followed that ever since. In high school, I took every art class available, and my first introduction to Photoshop was during our yearbook class.
I don't see your work from GDIT in your portfolio. Why?
Unfortunately, due to NDA and Public Trust obligations, I am unable to share government client work with the public. Thankfully, I love being creative after 5pm, so I have filled my portfolio with select works from my personal projects and hobbies.
Your name is unique - where are you from?
Having been born in Texas and grew up in Kentucky, you would not believe that I am part Dutch! My ancestry hails from the lowlands, where I'm seeking to move back to.
I love your Magic: The Gathering proxies. Can I buy them?
Unfortunately, I'm legally unable to sell them. However, I do accept trades. My rate is any single or sealed product $10+ in value for each proxy. Send me a message!
