Swampcon 2020: Hacked

Product and promotional design for a local anime convention

This local convention is ran by passionate volunteers. I served as one for a few of them!

Organized by University of Florida every year, Swampcon is a free anime and fandom convention, featuring events, vendor halls, artists and panels.

The convention relies on volunteers for promotional materials, product development, event setup and teardown and more. For 2020, I stepped in as an artist to help develop social media materials, products, and event signage.

The theme of 2020 was "Hacked", featuring glitch art, cyberpunk aesthetics and a digital rebellion.

What I did in this project

Working with a limited color palette, I was able to create a wide range of visually stunning designs

At the beginning of the project, we were given the year's themes, color palette, and requirements which the art team split amongst themselves.

I took on designs for convention handouts, artist alley signage, social media promotional media, buttons, and stickers.

Buttons and stickers were given away to convention participants. Signage was posted outside artist alleys. And social media materials were circulated on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter by our social media manager.

"SwampCon is an awesome convention and the best part is that it is FREE! "
